Leafield Community Woodland

Leafield Community Woodland is on Fairspear Road in Leafield, Oxfordshire - grid reference SP313155

The 2009 dawn chorus event was held on 25 April. 9 adults and teenagers got up with the lark to enjoy the woodland's dawn chorus from 5 - 6.30am on a fine Saturday morning.

Come and join in our bug hunt on June 27, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Free - everyone welcome!

We will meet at the Community Woodland, on the second Sunday of every month, from 11am-1pm for regular woodland maintenance. Helpers are very welcome, even for a short time.

The Woodland Workparty on Sunday 10 May 2009 tidied up grass and prepared peasticks for sale at the village fete. The Wychwood Project has already used hazel stakes and binders, cut during our November workparty, on a hedge at Gagingwell. More hazel rods await collection by the thatching company Rumpelstiltskin , so our little woodland is already yielding useful products.

There is a notebook in the woodland so visitors can record what they see. Each month we have notes of what you might see, and a record of what was seen in the previous month.
